What’s up doc?
Many people can visualize who says that while chewing on a carrot. Bugs Bunny has brought laughter, love, sarcasm and comic joy to billions worldwide. Did anyone ever get anything over on Bugs? Elmer Fudd surely never did. Bugs’ wit, wisdom and quick thinking brought us all many things to laugh about and think about in wondrous ways.
Peter Rabbit is another bunny that has brought joy, laughter and love in our world, even when being naughty. Thanks to Beatrix Potter, rabbits and our love of them was brought into the modern era. Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail are Peter’s triplet sisters, who always do the right thing while Peter gets into at times troublesome adventures.
Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail. Hippity, hoppity, Easter’s on its way . . . How many millions of children have loved them and sung that song.
Have you ever owned a rabbit’s foot for good luck?
This time of year there are millions of pounds of chocolate formed into the shape of bunny rabbits all over the world. What do chocolate bunnies have to do with Jesus and Easter?
You have to go back long before Jesus walked the earth to see more of how Creator has Used rabbits to bring humans messages throughout history. Rabbits, bunnies, hares, jackrabbits have clothed us, in many parts of the world fed us, cuddled and snuggled with us and been honored since the earliest of human times. Cleverness, spontaneity, abundance, speed, good fortune and fertility are just a few of the Godsign messages their presence can bring into your life.
The Easter bunny actually comes from a celebration of a Her, even though now it is a celebration of Him.
Rabbits have been big in the mythology of other cultures for thousands of years. They were associated with the Northern European Saxon Goddess Ēostre. Easter takes its name from the pagan Goddess Ēostre who was mentioned by the English monk Bede in ‘The Reckoning of Time’ written in 725AD. The terms ‘oestrogen’ and oestrus’ are both derived from the name of this Goddess. She is also known as Ostare.
Ēostre was recognized as the Goddess of Spring. She represented Mother Earth being reborn after the death of winter. She was celebrated as the symbol of the ‘resurrected’ Mother Earth.
Many Gods and Goddess of ancient times are associated with animals. Merlin is often shown with an owl. Ganesha is represented by elephants. Ēostre had two symbols of rebirth and renewal. The rabbits and eggs. Before there was an Easter they were actually known as Ēostre Eggs and Ēostre Bunnies.
In Celtic mythology and folklore the hare has links to the mysterious Otherworld of the supernatural. The Irish hare is native to Ireland and carbon dating of fossils show they were present in Ireland as far back as 28,000BC.
Irish Hares were often associated with the Irish Kings and Clans. The hares were admired for strength, speed and noted for being active at night and associated with the moon. They were seen as mysterious and magical and to be treated with caution. When the Romans invaded the British Isles, Julius Caesar made the observation that the Celtic people felt it was illegal to eat a hare. In Ireland it was believed the hares were associated with women from the Otherworld who could shapeshift into the form of a hare which also made eating them in Ireland taboo.
Rabbits are also closely connected with women and pregnancy because of their prolific fertility, reproducing bunnies so quickly. If you are thinking of having a baby and symbols of bunnies and rabbits keep showing Up, life is letting you know it is a good time for you to try. Some of you will remember the phrase ‘the rabbit died’ as another way to say that a woman was pregnant.
Rabbits rely on their wits and creative skills to avoid danger. They can show up in your life to help you be creative and think outside the box during difficult times, to help you find a solution and get you to quit neglecting your creative side.
Creator and Sacred Life will use rabbits and their symbols to get you to play and have some fun. Rejoice in the returning Spring and your own resurrected self stepping into the Sun. Do a little hop, hop, hopping yourself with laughter and love. Let your creative juices flow and bring rebirth into your Spirit, your Heart and your Life. That is after all what Jesus and Easter and Ēostre are all about. Let the rabbits, the hares, Peter and Bugs Bunny lead the way.

The Griffin Grief Group’s mission is to help everyone learn to strengthen, use and honor the many and varied Sacred Messages received from loved ones in Spirit. Over time, these sacred messages and communications help ease grief through the eternal bonds of God’s Love and Grace.
Whether you have lost your parent or child, spouse or friend, the loss and grief can feel like it will consume your heart. The Griffin Grief Groups are here to help you connect through Spirit with your loved one in Spirit. You will meet others who understand deep grief from their own experiences. Sharing the eternal Connection we all are capable of knowing, seeing and using in our daily life from our loved ones in Heaven allows each of us to realize how deep and everlasting their love is for us in God’s eternal Home and helps lessen grief.

GET RID OF GUNS. If anyone is needing help getting rid of a gun, please let me know. I am happy to help get it or you or both to the nearest police station. They will take any guns and destroy them. I have a number of police officer friends that can also assist us.
